5th grade is an exciting time for students because they get to graduate from elementary school and become middle schoolers! Part of that big step includes deciding what electives you want to take in the 6th grade! Most 6th graders don't get a choice in what electives they get rotated through but you can CHOOSE to join band!
6th grade band class is called beginning band. Starting at the beginning of the school year is the BEST time to join band. Capps does not offer beginning band classes later in the school year for 6th grade or any time for 7th and 8th grade. Starting later means you have to work harder to catch up! The BEST part though, is that you do not have to have ANY musical experience to be a part of the band! Mr. Williams will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know to be successful!
12 Things You Learn by Studying Music: 1. Self Confidence 2. Coordination 3. Teamwork 4. Comprehension 5. Problem Solving 6. Discipline 7. Arts Appreciation 8. Reasoning Logically 9. Communication 10. Conceptualizing 11. Value Judgments 12. Using Symbols

Where curious 5th graders have the opportunity to try out beginning band instruments to see which one they are awesome at!! You don't want to miss this exciting event!
